Lezlie Kinsinger broke the news to her husband: she was going to commandeer his hunting camper to build a mystery room.
Two months later, she was ready to launch 307 Mysteries.
“I started this because I wanted to do something in Gillette for adults, kids, families and businesses,” says Lezlie. “Everyone always complains that there’s nothing to do here, so, now you don’t have to go out of town.”
Lezlie creates all the puzzles in the rooms she creates herself, and has a range of different “mysteries” to solve – some as short as 10 minutes – to keep things fresh and interesting for people. She has tried to make the experience affordable, so that guests will come back more than once.
“I also want to stay portable so I can go places, take this trailer out to events,” Lezlie says of the her largest mystery room, which can be redesigned and changed easily. She took her escape room trailer out to Donkey Creek Festival this year and had nearly 300 attendees challenge themselves to solve a puzzle.
Larger groups are harder to accommodate, says Kinsinger, because not everyone gets a chance to participate. Groups of 7 or 8 people are ideal, and if they get stuck, she can help out. 307 Mysteries doesn’t combine people who don’t know one another, so if you can find five or six friends, call them and then call 307 Mysteries to make an appointment.
Just recently 10 corporate teams, including Security State Bank and Medicap Pharmacy, competed against each other. New Life Church won the challenge, and donated their winnings to Blessings in a Backpack.
“I just wanted to do something for the community I grew up in, and have fun!”
If you’d like to try an escape room at 307 Mysteries, or have them come to your event, give them a call at (307) 567-0063. They are located on Highway 14/16.
